The first snow of the winter came in the first few days of the month, and with the first Sunday being a cracking forecast many members had a good day on the hill. Below is the panorama from Wrynose Pass on the left, to Pavey Ark on the right. Below that on the left is a view from the top of Red Screes looking out to sea, and on the right the view up Dovedale from the slopes of Caudale Moor. |

Remembrance Sunday on Castle Crag |

The annual weekend meet at High House to commemorate Remembrance Sunday took place as normal, with most members opting to visit Castle Crag instead of Great Gable. On Castle Crag, the ceremony is led by the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment. | |
On the Saturday, Fred (in the photo) and Gavin continued their exploration of the Wadd mines on the hillside opposite High House. | |

20 members were present for the slideshow of the clubs summer trip to the Dolomites

The Oread bunkhouse at Rhyd Ddu, with which we have reciprocal rights, has been closed since early October due to dry rot. It is due to open this month at a cost of around £20,000. Understandable, their night fees have increased for 2013.

Honister Slate Mines are re-submitting plans for a zip wire following the refusal off two previous submissions. It was later refused. | |
